This summer I was employed as the Grounds Intern at the Iowa Arboretum in Madrid, Iowa. My job duties were seriously all over the board. Anything from using a chainsaw for 7 hours to maintaining the greenhouse, to helping with arboretum events to record keeping, to helping in the gift shop. You name it, I probably did it. The Iowa Arboretum is located on 415 acres of land just outside of Ames (a.k.a. the best college town ever) in Boone County. The arboretum is home to many species of trees, shrubs, and perennials, as well as woodland trails and a maintained prairie and trails. I mean could this place be any more me? This is why I couldn’t be more happy with my experience at the Iowa Arboretum. It gave me ample amounts of experience and an awesome summer 2017.
